Strong rumors of a Jetta station wagon going on sale next spring. Also, a sport version of the New Beetle, featuring a 200 HP V-6 to hit the lots next summer as a 2002 model.

For Sure!

Meanwhile, back on the ’01 side; GTI & the New Beetle are receiving an option of 17-inch wheels. The Cabrio gets a lux’ GLX trim option. And the EuroVan gets some "Europonies" with a new 201-HP VR6.

His~Story Dept.

So, Dr. Porsche is messing around in his villa in Stuttgart, back in ’35 and delivers a "baby", his first VW prototype. Well, his child, VW1, got all grown up & eventually ended up somewhere in the graveyard, and that’s unfortunate. So, Volkswagen has decided to "clone" (using some old oil drippings) VW1 and build an exact replica. Why? It will be on display at VW’s new theme park Autostadt, in Wolfsburg.

Reportedly, very accurate, including the 895-cc flat-4 & rims he "requisitioned" from a Mercedes 170/6 (hope that wasn’t his wife’s car). For more info and some cool web surfing, check out www.autostadt.de .
