VW Horizons

By Bill C.

Really?

Microbus Concept - VW took the wraps off a new concept Microbus at the Detroit Car Show in January. The 6-seater could be on the roads in 3 years. With the U.S. market in mind, it draws from VW Samba Microbus, the symbol of flower-power. Except this "Magic Bus" has a 231 HP, 3.2 Liter V6.

For Sure!

Wolfsburg Editions - Shown at the 2001 L.A. Show were the 2001 Volkswagen New Beetle Sport and 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg edition. The New Beetle Sport is a limited-edition car that offers additional feature content such as leather sport seats (only Beetle model to offer them), 17-inch alloy wheels, an eight-speaker Monsoon sound system, a sunroof, and a cold weather package. It's powered by the 150-HP, 1.8-liter turbocharged engine and has an MSRP of $20,950. The New Beetle Sport is basically a turbo model with extra trimmings

The Jetta Wolfsburg is also a limited-edition model. Based on the Jetta GLS 1.8T, it has a sport-tuned suspension, 16-inch BBS wheels, and leather trim on the steering wheel, shift knob, brake handle. The Jetta w/Wolfsburg package costs $19,600, only $250 more than a regular Jetta GLS 1.8T. The 16-inch BBS wheels are the easiest way to identify the Jetta Wolfsburg edition.
