VW Horizons

By Bill C.

Really?

Bugatti-Whatty? – Okay. So it might not be a VW. But, since VW owns Bugatti, you might be interested to know that the "dubbers" in Wolfsburg intend to bring back Bugatti in the form of a "rocket" dubbed the EB 16-4 Veyron. A very exotic sports car, this "Bugger" has 1001 HP … making it the most powerful one in the world!

It will go into production in 2003. It is currently powered by a 488-cubic-inc W-16 light alloy engine and will have 4- wheel drive, not to mention FOUR turbochargers. This would make Tim Allen proud; especially with 921 lb-ft of torque.

Maximum speed and acceleration figures will be available once testing is complete. Any takers?

For Sure!

Passat-NOT – What’s a 2001 Passat, but NOT a 2001 Passat. I have mentioned this here before. But order a new Passat today and get a better 2001 Passat than 6 or 7 weeks ago. Mid-year changes are nothing new to VW (ask me, I have a 73 Super Beetle). Besides a stronger chassis, this new one has 20 more ponies under the hood in its base 1.8L turbo. You can get all wheel (4Motion) drive, as long as you go for the 190-HP V6 & an automatic transmission. Of course, what is $30,000 between friends?
