This month the VW Club is blessed with Roxanna and Richard’s Type 2 for the VW of the Month. I guess it has been a while since a Type 2 has popped up in Bill’s raffle because he was really excited to get this one.

Anyhow, on with the stories. Talking with Roxanna I found out that the whole family is a member of the club. (Sorry Eric, I didn’t know that was your mom!) The Type 2 was a surprise Christmas gift for Richard that Roxanna and Eric pulled off without a hitch. It was a complete surprise to Richard who received it on Christmas Eve a couple of years ago. I know in my case keeping a secret is hard but can you imagine keeping such a big thing a secret? I don’t know how they did it.

It’s a 1964 model with a two-tone blue color as can be seen very well on the website. Roxanna said that Richard spends a lot of his weekends out in the garage "tinkering" with it and we all relate to that "tinkering" situation. It is currently a work in progress as it is not up and running yet but being Richard’s baby, we are guaranteed to see it at a future, possibly distant future, meeting. I do have faith in Richard’s "tinkering" abilities but I also know that time gets away from you when you are working on a car.

Roxanna and I also talked about some stories about Eric and his cars. I know the suspense is going to kill you (I guarantee they are great stories) but we will just have to wait for Bill to draw Eric’s name out of the ‘VW of the Month’ hat.
