For Sure! Goodbye Piëch – Hello Pischetsrieder – That’s pronounced pee-shets-reeder. As Ferdinand Piëch is eased out the door in April, and Bernd Pischetsrieder takes over the helm of VW. Pischetsrieder comes from BMW, where rumor has it that he was asked to take a permanent vacation. Something about a goof in buying the leaky Rover Group.

For Sure! W12 sets 24-hour record – That 600-hp, 6.0 liter mid-engined supercar that you have read about here has been setting some records, 3 years before its planned release. At a test track in southern Italy, the VW broke the 24-hour speed record. It established a mark of 183.49 mph for a solid 24 hours, which is calculated from knocking off 4403.8 miles in 24 hours. That beats the Corvette’s eleven year old record by 7.56 mph. While they were at it, they etched a new record for the 5000 kilometers at 183.61 mph and the 5000 mile record at 181.39 mph.
