icrobus – Word has it that VW is trying to define what a Microbus (of today) will be. While actually a useful minivan, it would probably be covered in a skin that would evoke the memories of those cool flower buses of a few decades ago. We are supposed to hear something by mid-summer.

olf & GTI – Golf will be a new model in the ’04 model year. It is predicted that the engine line up will be carried over form the current offerings (180-hp 1.8L turbo I-4, 205-hp 2.8L VR6 and the 1.9L turbodiesel). In the same reading, there is a rumor that VW is evaluating their options for the Beetle; either a replacement by 2005 or dropping it altogether. Say it ain’t so!
So, how do you like this look for the Golf? It’s just an artist’s rendering (check out the tall wheels). But I hope it is more fact than fiction. Looks quite "steamy." And if the prices stay down on the GTI, these could be selling "Fast & Furious."
