By Bill C.

For Sure!

Phaeton I apologize if this sounds like a sale ad. But where does a VW loyalist go after graduation from the Jetta? A Passat. Okay, well what about after the Passat? Now you have the Phaeton; what I feel is a VERY luxurious performer, especially after reading the latest test drive.

Here are just a few of the facts:

  • Engines in U.S. versions will be either the 330-hp W8 or 420-hp W12. Vrooooooom...

  • Top speed of 186 mph, but limited to 155 mph (Euro) or 130 mph (U.S.)

  • Brakes – Anti-lock discs, 14.5" w/ 8-piston calipers front and 13.3" rear

  • Auto-adjusting ride height drops ˝" at 86 mph and has 2 driver adjustable heights and 4 different shock absorber settings.

  • Double glassed windows & Triple sealed doors

  • Fully adjustable, heated and air-conditioned leather seats (with massage!)

  • 12 Speaker, 200-watt digital sound system
