Cayenne Pricing – Porsche’s answer to the Toureg SUV, the Cayenne, will arrive at dealerships in early 2003. Pricing has been released. The Cayenne S, with its 335-hp 4.5-liter V8 starts at $55,900. The 444-hp twin-turbo version will pull down $88,900. I knew you couldn’t sleep for worrying about this.

oureg Scheduled – Evidently, Porsche doesn’t want the VW Toureg to upstage the release of its Cayenne. So the VW version of this SUV will go on sale here in the second half of 2003, at least 6-months after the Porsche. Both are 5-passenger and slightly smaller than a Ford Explorer and come with air suspension that provides 11.8 inches of ground clearance.Power options for the VW are either a 3.2-liter V-6 or 4.2-liter V-8. The V-10 diesel and W-8 will be offered by early 2004.
Pricing will start at $30,000. For about $40,000 you can grab one with a V-8 (Beetle tow bar optional).
