Saturday, December 14, 2002 – Ditto on the nice day, again. We could have used some more members with their VWs. But things happen. With a 30-second limit in front of the judging stand, this parade moved right along. We were finished about 60 minutes after we started moving. Unlike Olive Branch, this parade DID allow, even encouraged, candy throwing. It was basically a straight run right up Goodman Rd., staying in the turning lane the whole way. I threw one of the crowd favorites, bubble gum; along with miniature Tootsie Rolls. I am saying this to share my experience. You see, unlike us adults, kids don’t really like those peppermint swirl candies; just in case you ever get a chance to take part. Also, Sam’s Wholesale has the cheapest prices in town at less than a dollar per pound. Like the Olive Branch parade, we were able to spread our club name and web site around and shared the Christmas cheer. It was as much a blessing to us as the crowd. Here are some of the pictures you will find on our website, linked from our "Past Event" section of Events. Bill C. |
