VW Horizons

For Sure

Ignition Coil Problem – Over a half-million 2001, 2002, & early 2003 VWs could suffer from one or more failed ignition coils (one coil per cylinder). VW is voluntarily replacing the coils BEFORE they fail. U.S. affected cars include those with the 1.8-liter Turbo. The only other VW engine mentioned is the W8. When a coil fails, symptoms are Check Engine light blinks, perhaps loss of power and rough running. You can call VW Customer Relations at 800-822-8987 to find out more.

Toureg Pricing – VW announced pricing in February on the Toureg, which will hit our shores later in 2003. The V6 starts at $34,900 and the V8 at $40,700.

Really?

Toureg Diesel? – VW of America is looking to bring the V10, twin-turbo diesel equipped Toureg to the U.S. about a year after the V-6 & V-8. The 5-liter V-10 develops 313 hp & 553 ft lb of torque. They have convinced der motherland. So, it looks like Spring of 2004, even sooner than originally expected!
