For Sure - More Diesel? 

Toureg V-10 Diesel – More news on the V10, TDI twin-turbo diesel headed for home in the Toureg for the U.S. Recent news has it arriving in the first quarter of 2004 and will be linked to the same 6-speed automatic transmission that is used with the V-6 & V-8 gasoline versions. The horsepower publicized in the latest article is 308, rather than the figure earlier printed, which was 313 hp Good news is the torque is still 553 ft lb. This engine is the same one used in the European version of the luxury VW Phaeton.

For Sure - In the Works

Phaeton Still “On” – VW has denied any truth to reports that it plans to back out of exporting the Phaeton to the U.S. They state that they are in the pre-launch phase, which includes preparing dealers. We should begin seeing them in November 2003!
