Jetta 5 – The fifth-generation Jetta will be introduced as a 2005 at the L.A. auto show in
January 2005. It gets a more powerful base engine. A 2.5 liter, 150-HP, 5-cylinder (that’s right,
a FIVE cylinder) replaces the current 2 liter, 115-HP, 4-clinder. It also receives its first ever fully
independent suspension and, of course, new styling queues, along with an optional six-speed
Tiptronic automatic. The DSG semimanual gearbox sold on some Audi models will be offered
on the Jetta as well, and other additions to the larger, more sophisticated Jetta include electric
power steering, stability control and antilock brakes. Look for the new Jetta in showrooms this
March.

MAAY-beeeee

Cayenne Hybrid - There is a strong rumor that Porsche is working on a hybrid version of SUV, the Cayenne ... well, at least, studying the possibility. The rumor includes basing it on the Toyota-developed 270 HP system used in the Lexus SUV, the RX 400(h).  It is all being done to meet future emission standards and, of course, offer better fuel economy. Oops cannot use that word around Porsche, so lets say "fuel efficient." Why not a diesel? What? A diesel in a Porsche? Heaven forbid!

R U Ready?

Concept R a “GO!” Remember that cool, 2-seater, mid-engined Boxter like roadster concept car that VW showed off about a year ago at the big shows? Expect it hit our VW show rooms in late 2007. It should come with the choice of either a 4-cylinder or V6.
