Hope your heater is working! Brrr! Winter is finally here; just in time for Christmas. Lots of things to do, running here and there; Christmas programs and dinners; shopping; PARADES! It might be too cold to work on that VW, even if you can find the time.

This is the one time of the year that I try to take a break before I dive into my Bugs in January. But, I decided to treat Verty to some front-end mod’s to compensate for the lowered struts. I picked up some a special camber fix kit, a caster fix kit and big sway bar. Hey, might as well throw in a new set of ball joints too! I should have read the directions. Right now she’s sitting on jack stands … waiting… while I have to farm out getting the bushings and ball joints pressed out. (late model front end). Okay, so NOW I get a break. Riiiiight… like I have nothing to do. Ha.

At least I had time to throw in a Tech Tips article this month. Yes, one of the other projects this last month was making a forced entry into Verty’s trunk. This was the second time this year. But, I devised a non-destructive method this time. Next month I will share some knowledge gained in the school of hard knocks regarding adjusting the pesky rascal of a latch; and a “fall-back” trunk release for emergencies.

I am sure you will notice there is no Vdubber article this month. Well, that is because none of the nominees responded to my request to provide some information in the questionnaire. Such is life, and it is great to have a contingency. Nominees, please get your info back to me. I will only use it as a source for the article.
