    A: Piech is a grandson

    2.       Q: Who is Herbert Klaus?

    A: Porsche’s nephew and a test driver for the original creating of the VW Beetle in the 1930’s.

    3.   Q: Ok, here’s another 1948 owner’s manual translation for you: On the right hand German language page 5 is the heading “Fahrzeug.” What is the English translation on the left hand page 5 for that word?

    A: “Vehicle.”

    4.   Q: When did the Type 3 VW get its “second generation” styling?

         A: 1970.

    5.   Q: In what model year did VW update the Karmann Ghia from its original “low-light” front fender styling?

    A: Mid-’58

    6.   Q: Should the bumper brackets of a 1965 Beetle be painted black or silver?

    A: Silver

    1.       Ok, in that 1948 manual, the top of the right hand German language page says  “KONSTRUKTIONSMERKMALE,” So, then, What is The translation at the top of the left-hand English language page?

    2.       The VW Beetle got a new higher mounted, squared off bumper in 1968. When did the Karmann Ghia gain that same bumper?

    3.       In what model years was the VW Type 4 made?

    4.       What was the span of model years of the 1st generation VW Rabbit?

    5.       In what model years was the Rabbit pickup made?

    6.       What advertising agency did VW use before they took on the famous Doyle, Dane Bernback agency that created all those funny ads?

      A: The translation is “Features” on page 7. Whew! Those Germans sure do have some windy words!
