What Is Free? – As automobile manufacturers are using interest free car loans and cash rebates to increase sales, VW is trying something different; free insurance. There are a lot of criteria to meet though. Assuming you have a license, you must take delivery of a new 2004 or 2005 Golf, New Beetle or New Beetle Convertible… but… you have to do it in Illinois or Wisconsin before March 31. Of course, this is just a pilot; thus, the reason for the limited geography. Oh now; will they check my driving record?

Passat for 2006 – Even though the ’06 Passat is not due to be unveiled until the Geneva Auto Show (when is that anyway?), VW has been circulating these sneak peek photos. So what do you think? Pretty sharp, eh? Engine choices will include a 200-HP Turbo 4-cylinder (2.0 L) or a 280-HP V6 (3.6 L). Choose iehter a 6-speed manual or automatic.
